In the News...

During the weekend of April 25-27, Sherborn Recycling participated in the "Natick Collection Goes Green" event in the Natick, Massachusetts shopping center.  The three-day event included exhibits about paper recycling, alternative fuels, new recycling programs at the center, displays by retailers showcasing green products, and local recycling groups, including Sherborn Recycling, building community awareness and demonstrating the how-to's of recycling.  This event was produced in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and MassRecycle.

Here are a few shots from the Sherborn Recycling photo album:

MassRecycle, the State's non-profit recycling organization, had its own display.  This event was produced as a partnership of Massachusetts DEP and MassRecycle.

Sherborn Recycling Chair, Carol Rubenstein and committee member Jane Pusch talked with visitors about the three R's:  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

"Too many plastic bottles are manufactured for single use," Sherborn Recycling warns.   Pine Hill CSA is selling Kleen Kanteen stainless steel bottles. For more information about this problem and great solutions, check out Enviro Tips.

The Sherborn Recycling displays ranged from recycling, to composting, to replacing plastic with cloth bags.   They even showed how solar cooking can save energy all year long, with a pound cake that was baked in a solar oven!

Remember to take a cloth bag with you when you go shopping. Foldable red cloth grocery-size bags with Pine Hill School's logo are available for purchase.  For details and prices email to: Kbellchester@aol.com
